BLACK on BLACK FILMS
Congratulations to the four laureates of the Youth edition of Black on Black Films’ screenwriting residency
Montreal, January 20, 2022—BLACK ON BLACK FILMS and the Conseil des arts de Montréal are proud to welcome Jean-Bastien Niyigaruye, Chelsea Osei, Yzaih Phénix-Alphonse and Dahlia Thompson, winners of the third edition of Je me vois à l’écran. Offered to emerging artists from Afro-descendant communities in Montreal, this 20-week screenwriting residency will take the form of a creative lab including mentorship, masterclasses, and participation to networking events in the industry.

Our Mission
To represent Afro-descendant creators and artisans of the media arts to funding institutions, the industry and the public. To professionalize Afro-descendant artists by providing its actors with tools and essential means that will enable them to be involved in all stages of the conception, production and dissemination of cultural content (cinema, television, new media).

Our training consists of groups and one on one with professionals from the industry.
Sharing their experiences and insights. We cover topics on scriptwriting, pitching, video editing, pre-production, post-production, and many more aspects.
